Discover parks, museums, a golf course, walking trails and other recreational facilities. It is home of Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, the largest military training base in the British Commonwealth.
Town of Grand Bay-Westfield
Welcome to the historic and beautiful Town of Grand Bay-Westfield! Located in southern New Brunswick, along the scenic St. John River, this community’s unique identity is strongly rooted in its people, surroundings, and rich history.
Minutes from the city of Saint John and 1 hour from the U.S. border, Grand Bay-Westfield offers an outstanding quality of life set in dramatic scenery. The favourable climate and scenic waterways create a variety of recreational possibilities for residents and visitors alike, including bird watching, golfing, canoeing and kayaking and walking trails.
Originally part of "cottage country", Grand Bay-Westfield still enjoys the scenery and relaxing pastimes provided by nearby rivers, lakes and seashore. Both freshwater and saltwater beaches are only minutes away and boating on the St. John and Kennebecasis Rivers is convenient and affordable.
Town of Hampton
The Town of Hampton, located 30 km northeast of Saint John, is a small, friendly community with many points of interest and beautiful natural scenery. Nestled on the Kennebecasis River, which is the largest tributary of the St. John River, the town’s rolling hills, waterways, farmland, wildlife and world-renowned marsh area reward visitors with a visual feast.
Hampton is proud to be the birthplace of John Peters Humphrey, who in 1947 wrote the first draft of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and founded Amnesty International Canada in 1973.
You can explore the Dutch Point Trail system, admire the breathtaking view of the Hampton Marsh from a roadside lookout, or bird watch from the Spooner Island gazebo.
